Psalm 107:1-3, 17-22

Reflection: v. 21, ‘let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind’

I’m thankful for the Lord—for the Lord’s goodness and mercy, each and every day. In this process of how God is teaching me about recovery, every day I wake up, taking one day at a time to learn about life on this journey. I’m blessed for many things around me: my family, my spiritual family, my community, and for God’s grace and mercy. I’m learning how to live all over again.

It’s a humbling experience to learn about this journey as you go through life’s twists and turns, ups and downs. I am very grateful for having a second chance at life. I learn how to face life’s trials and tribulations every day with a process of thinking about things and dissecting things before I even act. I realize that this puzzle is one you are always piecing together each day you wake up. You always have to be a people person, to love people regardless of their circumstances or your circumstances. You always try to see the good in others. The good outweighs the bad. I am just really grateful for each day the Lord has given me on this earth despite all my trials and tribulations. There are so many wonderful things I can talk about, but I am just truly blessed to wake up and work this process every day—to have another day to try to get it right.

Prayer Lord, thank you for another day on this journey, another day to try to get things right.
